Musings Of A Minnesota Farm Boy

Musings of a Minnesota Farm Boy was birthed from the memories of myself, the author.  They are memories of life growing up on a turkey farm in Minnesota during the 50s and 60s.  It was a great time to be a kid in America.  These were the baby boom years, a time when America was living the American dream and families were taking advantage of a good economy after the war years.

Of course there were problems in America too.  Race relations, particularly in the south under Jim Crow Laws, were appalling. The Korean War in the early 50s was also painful, especially for those whose loved ones fought and died. Still, my childhood was definitely a “Leave it to Beaver” life, and I benefitted from it immensely.

Life was simple growing up on the farm, and I loved it. Writing these memories or musings, I hope to leave a legacy for my children and grandchildren, a legacy of a simple, happy life that is probably much rarer today than when I grew up as a Minnesota farm boy.
